Despite having strong technology and patient trust the clinic was facing two key issues:

(a) a low rate of patient referrals, and
(b) not enough use of lifetime commitment re-treatment guarantee which was impacting weak engagement with past patients.

Strategy & Solution

To address these issues, Clarity Laser Vision was introduced.

  1. After surgery, the Referral Program suggested happy patients refer a friend or family member for a priority consultation and a small discount for a future elective.
  2. Sent custom quarterly newsletters to the patients explaining the advanced technologies used like Schwind Amaris laser and iTrace aberrometry (Clarity Laser Vision) with success stories and aftercare tips.
  3. After activating a lifetime commitment, we sent out forms to former patients who are entitled to touch-up procedures for free. Of course, not all forms are medically advisable. The follow-up care is a lifelong commitment that many of our patients will use.

Execution & Key Metrics

  • In 12 months, patient referrals increased by +75%, adding nearly 60 new potential patients through word-of-mouth.
  • Throughout the quarter, people engaged with our newsletters at an average rate of 45%, and 22% clicked through to their blog and results pages.
  • Out of more than 200 past patients eligible for lifetime re-treatment, 38% re-engaged, and 12% took a free enhancement. This positively reflects on the loyalty program.

Results & Impact

  • The revenue from elective procedures grew by an estimated +18% due to the referral program.
  • Bringing back old patients strengthens loyalty and has proven to be effective with almost one-third of patients returning one way or another for re-consultation or even just a check-up.
